Vocation
The manufacture of steel and tools began by royal order at Saint-Juéry in 1828. Since then production has been constant and uninterrupted.
Today, FORGES DU SAUT DU TARN has 3 specialist brands proposing wear-parts for Handling, Mowing, Tillage and Vineyards.
Our parts are available as first-mount or spares to which the exact the same design, manufacturing inspection and service quality standards are applied.

Industrial capacities

FORGES DU SAUT DU TARN has two French production sites.
Each has its own specialisation :
- Saint-Juéry is specialised in Handling and Mower parts
- Toul is specialised in wear-parts for Tillage.
In addition to its profound regional footing, FORGES DU SAUT DU TARN also has a wide-reaching international presence and ships its products across the globe.
Our story
Origins
Sale of the land around the Saut du Sabo to “Garrigou, Massenet et Compagnie”, where the latter would construct the Saut du Tarn factories.
Diversification
Joseph-Léon Talabot, a great industrialist from the Limoges region, took over the management of the factory and broadened production, which had been limited to the agriculture sector as it was the country’s main economic activity.
Industrialisation
The factory became the “Société Anonyme des Aciéries du Saut du Tarn” and began to develop and industrialise its processes by specialising in the production of hand-tools (shovels, scythes, picks, files, etc.).
Agricultural
mechanisation
The mechanisation of the agricultural sector after the
Second World War led the company to develop its product
ranges, adding wear-parts for agricultural machinery.
Re-structuring
The steel-industry crisis that hit Europe at the end of the 20th
century had a profound effect on French industry and the
company was forced to re-structure and further the specialisation of its product ranges.
In this context, the company was incorporated into a major French industrial group, the Ets EXPERTON-REVOLLIER and took on a new name: FORGES DU SAUT DU TARN.
Specialisation
The company continued to develop, building on its technological research and innovation work which was in turn founded on a powerful investment policy, positioning itself as a fork tine manufacturing expert for the Handling sector and expanding its sales globally.
Addition of a
new forge
FORGES DU SAUT DU TARN added to its product ranges
through the acquisition of GOUVY, a long-standing specialist
in wear-parts for the Tillage sector.
A new chapter opens
Ets EXPERTON REVOLLIER was a family owned
business; it was bought out by 6 managers from
within the group, who set up SAINTEX with the aim of ensuring the continuation of the precious values and business operations of the company and its subsidiaries.
Product range
expansion
FORGES DU SAUT TARN spread its expertise to cover all
aspects of the agricultural machinery sector by incorporating
the GARD brand with its extensive portfolio allowing the
company to position itself as a reference in the production
of wear-parts for the Vineyards sector.
